Laxman Jhula
Laxman Jhula happens to be one of the famous hanging
bridges through the sacred river Ganga. The jhula is a joining in between two significant
villages in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. It connects the Tapovan village in Tehri Garhwal and
Jonk city in Pauri Garhwal.
The crossing is made up of iron and it is approximately
450 feet long, which is suspended at an altitude of almost 70 feet above the waterway.
Laxman Jhula has remained one of the centres for tourist fascination since
its inception for its amazing memory of the Hindu Mythology.
As per the admired Hindu mythology, Ramayan, it is trusted that Lord Ram and
his brother Laxman had cross over the Ganga river at the same location, where
the bridge has been constructed.
The bridge was launched for public in the year 1929.
In old times, in order to boost the visitor footfall, many other expansions
have been carried out nearby the well-known Laxman Jhula.
Tourists now love to fill a considerable amount of
time in these places in the route of their Rishikesh Trip.
You can not only go to the Laxman Jhula, but you can also pass time in some
of the additional nearby tourist attractions.
